Romance She Wrote is intended to help writers of Romance in all its sub-genres craft their best novels yet, by offering help, advice, and the occasional sanity check on the road to publication.

Romance She Wrote is the blog site of Gracie O’Neil. In the real world, Gracie writes technical documentation for an electronics company. In another world–which is much more fun–she writes paranormal romantic suspense, and is currently working on her fourth book and waiting for “The Call” from her agent.

  1. Hi Gracie! I just discovered you on one of the RWA loops regarding the topic of synopsis…which led me to your web page. What a brilliant web page. Well done, you! I reviewed the information on your 4-page, 2-page, single page, 4-paragraph and fifty word synopsis. It was so helpful. I was unable to find “How to Write Sunopsis Without Turning Homicidal;” however, and, yes it’s true, I’m nearly at the homicidal point! May I have a PDF sent to me at your convenience, please.

Thank you so much for a fabulous web site full of helpful information. I’m telling all my friends!!!

    Cheers!

  2. Please excuse the typo of “sunopsis” in the last email…no wonder I couldn’t find it! Hahahaha! It’s not my typing, it’s the fabulous dangles on my new bracelet dictating the accuracy of my text!!! My typing is lousy today, but I look good!!!

  3. Hi Jude,

Thanks for the bouquets. :-) Always lovely to hear when something I write hits the spot!

The .pdf isn’t something I have up on the site yet, but it’s a compilation of the Writing A Synopsis blog posts with a couple of things added. So you’re not not going crazy. But never fear, I’ll email it to you privately.

If it’s not in your hot little hands in an hour from this post contact me again. The ether will have eaten it.
    :-)

  4. How did we ever live before Spell Check??

New bracelet? Cool. Then we DEFINITELY can’t have you turning homicidal.
There’s nothing like something shiny to make you feel gorgeous. Enjoy.

  5. Hi Gracie,

I too discovered your website today from one of the RWA loops. Wow, I’ve been missing out! The advice you’ve compiled here is so helpful and makes me feel less stressed about the whole affair. Ten minutes and I already have my fifty words or less. Now, for the hard projects of the weekend: working through the process to get to the final synopsis. Could you please send me the pdf “How to Write Synopsis Without Turning Homicidal”? It’d be a lifesaver :)

    Thanks!
    Susan

  6. Hi Susan,

Not stressed is always good! :-)

I’ve added a download link under Special Give-Away in the right hand sidebar underneath my photo. Click on the word HERE to download the .pdf
You should be able to print and/or save to your computer.

Let me know how you find it.
    :-)

  7. Thanks, Gracie, but the download must not like me! I got directed to a “not found” page. I’ll try it again later.

  8. Hi Susan,

I’m not sure what went wrong there. I’ve gone in and deleted the “HERE” link and just left in the link under the words “How To Write A Synopsis Without Turning Homicidal”.

It works for me, but if you’re still having problems contact me again and I’ll send it privately. You’ll have it for the weekend.

Where would we be without technology glitches? (Speaking of homicidal… lol)

    :-)

  9. Hi Gracie

So wonderful to spend time with you at conference – albiet too short. Couldn’t recall the name of that other site of yours but am super keen to do your website course for writing. Have just purchased .com domain from godaddy and itching to get a writing site up and going. Can you drop me a line and fill me in on the details. Bron raves about your talent, and her site, as does yours, looks amazing.

    my domain is http://www.cassandrabrighton.com

  10. Hi Cassandra!

Yes, conference was great, wasn’t it? Lovely to see you too, and I hope to catch up again when I’m down your way end of this month.

Thanks for the bouquets about the sites. They’re much appreciated! I love doing them.

Now, the site url you’re after is http://www.threebearsmethod.com and the course is Wonderful Writers’ Websites 101. The idea of WWW101 is to help technophobic writers learn how to create and maintain their own promotional websites.

We’re beginning another course next Monday the 6th September, so you’ve timed that well. :-) You’ll see the prerequisites and the schedule on the site.

    :-)
